How to avoid Bad Beats |
||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() |
Unfortunately you will find that you get "done" by bad beats from time to time and all you can do is just pick yourself up, forget about it and carry on playing. There is NO point in complaining, take it on the chin and continue your game. If you are up against players who are bad and you get stung with a bad beat by one of them then accept it, ultimately a bad player is a bad player and the chances are they will lose their money eventually (you just need to make sure it is to you). One way to help get away from bad beats more often is to move awya from low limit games. Low limit games allow players to stay in the game in many cases with just small bets or calls, if however they were up against a $30 raise and they have a bad hand they are much less likely to call then if your limit raise was just $2. At the end of the day you have to remember that everyone can play their cards the way they want, if you raise $10 pre flop with pocket Aces there is nothign stopping someone going all in and calling you with their 4-7 suited! Yes it is probably very stupid of them but if the cards come out and they make a Flush and you make 3 of a kind then admitedly you should feel hard done by but it's the way it goes sometimes! Remember, you have probably had your fair share of luck and put bad beats on other players in the past, it's Swings and Roundabouts. But if you continue to learn and imporve your game then you are going to hopefully take more of the bad players than the bad beats they inflict on you! Related articles: Poker strategy |
