Caribbean Stud Poker rulesCaribbean Stud Poker is slightly different than other poker games such as Hold'em or Omaha because instead of playing against other players you play against the dealer. It is a relatively simple game to pick up but you must not mistake this for it being easy to win at as it does still require the right strategy to win!

Caribbean Stud Poker uses 1 standard deck of 52 playing cards and is played at a standard Blackjack sized table.

Caribbean Stud PokerThe Caribbean Stud Poker game begins with players placing their ante which is a wager that they have to place to take part in the game. This bet is placed in the "Ante" spot on the table and must equal the tables minimum, the players are then given the chance to place a bet in the progressive jackpot, this is usually $1 (or equivalent in own currency) and is only payed out if the player gets a certain set of cards. The progressive jackpot bet is optional. If a player does want to place a bet in the progressive jackpot then it is placed above the "Ante" spot.

Each player (there can be more than 1 player at a table but all players are playing against the dealer) is then dealt 5 cards face down other than the dealer who has the last of their playing cards face up.
The player then looks at their own cards and now has to make the decision if they want to stay in and place a "Raise Bet" or fold and lose their Ante. If they want to continue then the player has to place a bet that is double the value of their Ante bet and place it in the "Raise" bet spot. If however the player doesn't like the look or their cards they can fold and the dealer will take their cards and the Ante bet. Once all players at the table has made their decision on if they are Raising or Folding then the dealer turns the rest of their cards over.

The dealer needs to have either a King or an Ace to qualify, if they don't have either of these cards then they do not qualify and all Ante bets (those that remained in the game and didn't fold) are paid back to the players at a ratio of 1:1 (even money). The Raised bets are pushed back to the players too but no extra is payed out on them.

If however the dealer does qualify and has either a King or an Ace in their hand then the players turn over their cards in turn and are compared against the dealers to determine who has won. They are based on Poker Hand rankings to dermine the best hand.

If a players hand beats the dealers hand then they are paid back the Ante at a ratio of 1:1 (even money) and then based on what ranked hand they got their Raised bet is paid out at a ratio as to what the casinos payout chart says (the better the hand the better the payout).

This is a standard payout chart, may vary slightly from casino to casino

2 Pair

4:1

If the dealers hand wins then the dealer/house takes the Ante and the Raised bet. If however the dealer and the player have equal value hands then the Ante and the Raised bet are pushed and the player gets them both back.

If a player has gone in for the Progressive Jackpot then to get a payout they need to get a minimum of a Flush to receive a payout. The following is a standard payout chart, again this can vary from casino to casino. Usually the Royal Flush and Straight Flush are the ammounts you see here
