Playing online means you are free to do other things at the same time as playing poker, such as have music on, watch TV, read emails, surf the internet, play multiple tables etc

Now there is nothing stopping you doing these other things while you are playing online poker but they can be a distraction so you which can mean that you are not giving enough of your attention to the game which could affect how you play your cards.

This is especially true for beginners who are just starting out in the game of poker because it is important that you pick up how the game is played and try to remember and tips or strategy's you have learnt or read about. More experienced players can maybe get away a bit more with playing more tables if they are at low limit tables and are comfortable with this but having too many things going on at once can really make a difference without you realizing.
