In Poker
it is very important not to give your opponents any advantage over you,
so we have compiled a list of some poker tips to try and help you (they
aren't a guarantee you are going to win if you follow them all, but they
may give you a bit of a better chance...)
- You
have probably heard of the term "Poker
Face", what is means is not letting others see what you
are thinking or feeling. If you can act exactly the same if you
have a single pair in your hand or a Royal Flush then that makes
it extremely hard for your opponents to guess what you have in
your hand!
- As
with all forms of gambling, make sure you don't bet more than
you are able to lose as you probably won't always come out a winner
(visit Gamblers Anonymous if you think you have a gambling problem
or addiction USA

- Watch
your opponents and study how they play. This is best to do when
you aren't in the game. See how they bet, how they react, try
and spot any changes they have in their game, personality or even
they way they look.
- When
starting out at Poker many players play too many of their starting
hands, top players usually only play their high value starting
hands (check out the different Poker
Hands). This is a key to profitable play, it's not always
about the hands you play, but those that you don't play!
- Don't
play Poker against players who are loads better than you, find
players who you can beat to play against while you learn the rules
and become a better player.
- Take
a break from the game, especially if you are having a bit of a
bad run. Freshen up and compose yourself!
